Back by popular demand, I am once again carrying 1680 Denier Ballistic Nylon! Also found at my favorite fabric place, some really hard core ripstop style coated nylons that live up to my personal expectations of durability, reliability and offering a look more unique than just basic cordura: Spectra Diamond and Standard high density riptops.

1680 Denier Ballistic Nylon:- Looks like carbon fiber
- Feels like satin
- Acts like your softest calfskin leather
In my opinion this is really overkill in functionality for protecting these great little netbooks - you would destroy what's inside the sleeve before you even hurt the sleeve itself! Did you know ballistic nylon started out for use in flak vests during WW-II to protect airmen from shell fragments while flying sorties over Europe?
Spectra Diamond Ripstop:
This is a 3 layer laminate material with high density 500 D nylon outer shell, Honeywell's Spectra fiber in a repeating 5/8" x 1 1/4" diamond pattern in the middle and sealed on the back side by a waterproof yet breathable micro-porous membrane. A really cool, technologically advanced material that performs even better than it looks - I would put it up against standard 1000D cordura any day and expect better results.
I recently added the Charcoal and Green colors of this material. It comes in a narrow width (36") which is just wide enough to make a sleeve with a single pocket, but wouldn't have enough left over for any other pockets (hdd or external front/rear pocket) or for the USB drive holder. Please ask first if you wish to have the above in either of these two colors and I will verify if I have enough of the material on hand.
Standard 1/4" square high density ripstop:
I use the term "standard" only in that this only looks like what people generally think of as ripstop, but it's far more than that. It's actually a high density 1000D nylon woven with rip-stop yarns every 1/4" and sealed on the back side by a rubberized non-breatheable waterproof coating. I would say it's just as durable as the Spectra Diamond and likely, with the coating, even more water resistant.
